Asheville's Food Lion Skate Park

The Food Lion Skate Park is located in downtown Asheville, at the corner of Flint and Cherry Streets at the edge of the Montford neighborhood, across I-240 from the Asheville Civic Center.
Designed by Tim Payne and his Team Pain crew, the Food Lion SkatePark is the premier facility of its kind throughout the region. Featuring 17,000 square feet of outdoor skateable surface housing three distinct areas; a shallow bowl/beginner's area, a street course, and a deep pool/advanced bowl; the Food Lion SkatePark offers challenges to skaters of all abilities and interests.
The beginner's area consists of a 4-ft bowl with a rolling lip. Within the bowl is a series of hips and a 5-ft. painted curb-style grinding surface. The street course is the largest section consisting of several quarterpipes ranging from 5 ft. to 8 ft. There are several launch boxes, a pyramid, a handrail and ledges. There is also a double-sided bowled out spine, two pump bumps and various other obstacles throughout. The advanced section consists of a 7 to 10 ft. bowl with a hip. The 10 ft. section is a vertical bowl with full metal coping connecting with the 7 ft. section by an escalating grinding surface and a rolling hip.
Daily passes to the park are $2 for city residents and $4 for non-residents. Individual annual passes are $50/year for residents and $100/year for non-residents. Family annual passes are $75 for residents and $150/year for non-residents.
